RASA VINYASA

Liberate that which binds you, identify your strength and illuminate your radiance - GET JUICED!

Rasa is the transforming essence that brings us inner satisfaction. Within yoga, rasa is can be defined as "liquid love".  It is the embodied experience of joy and passion. Without rasa, our yoga and life experiences become dry, rigid, habitual and mundane. Rasa Vinyasa is an active, modern and energetic approach to yoga.  More emphasis is placed on flow than form. In this practice, we connect to the source of our creativity, cultivate gratitude and remember the blessings of our lives. Although this class can be challenging, confident beginners are always welcomed and always supported.

PRENATAL YOGA

Practicing Yoga during pregnancy is a lovely way to keep your body healthy as you deepen your connection with your growing baby.

My prenatal classes offer a combination of safe, easy to follow stretches and strengthening movements that support the empowered experiences of pregnancy, labor and birth. You will explore and move with the rhythmic flow of fluids within your body and enhance your awareness of the space that you are creating for your baby. Every class ends with a period of deep relaxation which helps to relax and rejuvenate your whole being. You can begin this class at anytime during your healthy pregnancy. This class is appropriate for first-time yoga students through the more experienced.

HATHA FLOW YOGA

Gently balanced sequences with flow!

My hatha yoga classes are similar to other yoga classes where students stretch, sweat, breathe deeply and move fluidly. You will experience all of that and much more. I design these classes to balance your body and emotions through energizing and calming sequences of movement. You do not need to over-strive, just breathe and be present to the pulse of inner joy.

YOGA TRANCE DANCE

A guided fusion of yoga and free-form movement to discover your inner dance!

Stretch, breathe, flow and groove with the pulse of life and the rhythms of great music ranging from meditative, high energy world beats and even a few familiar funky tunes! No dance or yoga experience needed – seriously! Just come with a desire to move and a sense of fun. Wear clothes that are very comfortable, but not too baggy – yoga mats are not used.

BEGINNER YOGA

Ease into the practice of yoga without feeling overwhelmed!

This session is appropriate for anyone who wants to begin or enhance a yoga practice. Each class covers the basics of yoga essential to most classes. You will learn fundamental yoga postures, basic breathing and relaxation techniques and the key actions of alignment and modifications. Upon completion, you will have experienced the vitality and the ever permeating happiness of beginning yoga! Restorative Yoga

Discover Ease...within you

Overworked and overstressed bodies, crave time to rest. Learn how to restoring your well-being with the use of props (blankets, cushions and bolsters are provided) to create positions which support deep states of relaxation. The emphasis of these classes is on dissolving tension, soothing your nervous system and cultivating stillness. Restorative yoga is not about moving dynamically and increasing flexibility, it is about passively opening and gently supporting the body. Vinyasa Flow Yoga

Creative sun salutations and asana transitions

Vinyasa yoga is one of the most commonly practiced styles in the west today. Literally translated, ‘vinyasa’ means ‘to arrange’ or ‘to place in a special way’. But often, it is simply translated as ‘flow’, and this can be a useful way to think of vinyasa. It refers to a carefully arranged sequence of asanas (yoga postures). Movement from one asana to the next follows the breath. The result is a smooth, flowing class that become almost dance-like. On-going sessions, Thursdays at 9:30am at Barefoot Wellness. Lunchtime Yoga

Yoga Express!

It's a mid-day break designed to enliven your day. In one hour, dive into a moderate paced yoga flow sequence. These classes are held at PSU in Middletown but are open to the public. PRIVATE CLASSES

Personalized instruction for the beginner through the more experienced.

If you are intrigued by the practice of yoga but intimidated about going to a group class, I will cover the fundamentals of a vinyasa flow practice to empower you for trying one of my group classes. Or if you have experience, I can help break the practice down further through discussion, refinement of poses and offer suggestions for developing a personal practice. I will also create a playlist for your personal practice.
